What we do, precisely

We operate a search interface. When you submit a search, we pass your criteria to participating rental providers and display what they return. We do not hold vehicles, allocate them, price them or guarantee that any of them will still be available at the moment you book.

What the provider does

Everything after you choose an offer. The provider confirms the reservation, takes payment, sets the terms, handles the vehicle at the counter, and owns cancellation and refund policy. Their confirmation email — not ours — is your booking record.

Before you leave our site

When you continue to a provider, we show a summary first: vehicle, provider, price and taxes where the provider supplies them, mileage, fuel policy, deposit, accepted payment method, cancellation policy and any important restrictions. It also states plainly that you are leaving American Drive.

How we are paid

We may earn a commission from a provider when a booking completes after a referral from this site. It does not change your price and it does not give us control over the provider's terms. Full detail is in our affiliate disclosure.
