What the Minivan class covers
The practical distinction from a large SUV is cargo room behind the third row. In most minivans it is usable; in many three-row SUVs it barely holds a weekend bag once all seats are up.
Availability is thinner than for cars, particularly during school holidays. If your dates are fixed, book early rather than close to travel.

Most take three across in some configuration, but it depends on the seat type. Confirm with the provider.
It is longer than a car but has good visibility and a car-like driving position. Most drivers adjust within a few miles.
Providers generally do not allow seat removal. Third rows often fold, which is usually enough.
