Electric Car Rental

Electric rentals work well on routes with dense charging coverage and poorly on routes without it. The deciding factor is your itinerary, not the car.

What the Electric Vehicles class covers

Before booking, check three things with the provider: what charging network the vehicle can use, whether a charging card or account is included, and what state of charge you must return the car at. Return-charge rules vary widely and can be expensive to get wrong.

Range figures are rated estimates. Cold weather, highway speed and climate control all reduce real-world range, sometimes substantially.

These are examples of the class, not an inventory list. US rental providers assign a vehicle from the booked class at pick-up — which is why every listing reads "or similar". American Drive does not hold vehicles and cannot guarantee any specific model.

Availability: American Drive does not hold inventory. Whether a Electric Vehicles vehicle is available for your dates depends entirely on the participating providers — run a search to find out.
